6 years old dwarf carabao mango, with right pruning and grafting technique, just ask Lolo Marge Nursery for consultation and training

My Reaction: I believe if we want our carabao mango competitive in the Philippines for the export market, we should be upgrading the production and planting technique of the carabao mango. By using dwarfing and pruning technique, we could make the carabao mango have a dwarf stature for better fruit quality and better harvest. I’ve seen evidences that our carabao mango trees could be pruned and remain small for high density planting but most specially we could cut chemical use in controlling pests thus lessening chemical residue for the export market. If we get lucky luzon mango growers could make an off-season mango fruit with this dwarfing technique plus greenhousing the dwarf mangoes from the rain. It is possible if we put our efforts unto it. The high density planting of carabao mango is possible it we put effort and consistency. The problem with Filipino Mango growers, they are too lazy to work on the tree which in return making the tree really grow. For those who disagree I bet your just too lazy to make an effort and experiment with this complex mango variety which slowly is getting beaten by other mango varieties in other countries. I think this is the first step in protecting that edge. The world is longing for less exposed chemical fruits and carabao mango is a fully exposed chemical sprayed mango variety… just ask Japan.
If you want to know and where to buy low-bark grafted mangoes, I recommend Lolo Marge Nursery. I visited the said nursery, they know what they are doing and they have the people to do so. Its time to support innovative Filipino agriculturists and farmers. Using this new technique is the first step in having a competitive mango industry for the export market. This is for the fruit growers who want to take the risk… This is not a solution but a means of alternative. I am no expert.
